Located on the Georgetown waterfront, Fabio Trabocchi’s new 7,500 square foot restaurant boasts scenic views of the Potomac River and Kennedy Center. Taking inspiration from the coastal eateries that dot the Italian peninsula, the design evokes, with its 1,800 square foot patio and glass-enclosed veranda, dining along the seaside. The existing office-space’s low 10 ft ceilings were opened up and coffered, juxtaposing raw elements with elegant finishes. Large banquettes and built-in shelving create small zones of intimacy within the expansive space that surrounds the raw bar display and open kitchen. Bright nautical blues and bold stripes punctuate warm earthy browns, and photographs of sailboats and family beach trips adorn the walls. Two separate bars, the ability to create a series of private dining rooms, and the bi-fold doors separating the patio spaces offers the restaurant true flexibility in creating unique and distinctive dining experiences.
