Park Chelsea

Washington, DC
Hospitality, Residential

Emblematic of the very large apartment complexes of DC’s Navy Yard, the 427-unit Park Chelsea features an unrivaled array of amenities: game room, library, lounge, gardens, fitness center, yoga center, pools, lounge areas, café, conference rooms, private meeting rooms, and many more. Our client wanted to combine the spirit of our restaurant work, with Phil Esokoff’s base-building architecture. We were tasked with expanding and improving the flow and relationship between spaces and to rethink how these spaces interact with each other. We were initially tasked with designing interior finishes and furnishings, but eventually, the scope of work was expanded to include construction supervision and to further develop interior unit finishes and selections. We seek to create spaces that have a timeless quality, but that also feels current. We draw from the sensuality of materials, joinery, and detailing to articulate these materials into spaces, all the while using light to sculpt the space itself.
