Picnik creates a bright and comfortable space with a bold and playful color palette to the likes of a vibrant Palm Springs home. Upon entering, customers are presented with several dining options: a casual dining room, a bar lounge, and a “Market” section with café style cocktail tables that blur the line of inside and outside seating by the use of an operable full-height window system. The space is outfitted with a large mural, warm woods, accent tile, and polished concrete floors throughout. We strategized to screen the visuals overlayed with the program for the space in a filtered way, The kitchen is screened with breezeblocks while front-of-house materials push the boundary. We then visually separated the dining room and bar area with a low bookshelf “wall” displaying cookbooks, curated pantry goods, and other bold sundries.
