Smoke House Live
The latest from Pitmaster Hospitality restauranteurs Jim Foss and Kris Diemer, Smokehouse Live has overnight become Northern Virginia's destination for pit-smoked barbecue and live music. As the largest barbecue joint in DC, the 16,000-square-foot facility can accommodate up to 600 diners. The space channels the Virginia countryside, using hut-like structures within the spaces to define the 3 main areas – Dining, Bar, and Music Venue (Smoke, House, and Live). Pallets, raw building materials, picnic benches, and Adirondack seating evoke the feel of a backyard event with a modern twist, complemented by direct views of the restaurant’s massive barbecue pit. Open walls and low barriers create zones within the expansive facility, allowing for intimacy and communal seating, as desired. The restaurant’s capacity even spills out onto the sidewalks, with garage doors that can open in pleasant weather to blend indoors and outdoors.
