HD+ won a competition hosted by JBG for a trophy office lobby in downtown DC. As this lobby is meant to serve a large office complex made up of separate buildings, its design was made to become a gathering place, with a coffee bar directly opening up to it, and art exhibits would be a regular feature. The two-story lobby offers a lounge overlook and a fitness center. Our design vision was to bring in the textural richness of the building’s facade and frontscape. Materials include brick & concrete pavers, corten steel paneling, hot rolled steel structure, walnut woods, and felt paneling.
