Chicago Winery
A 3rd commission for this growing concept, slated for a continuing expansion nationwide, situated within the bustling and hospitable area of River North, Chicago Winery took over an existing steakhouse that faltered during the pandemic. Again, the ground level is well suited for a full-service restaurant and wine bar, Liva. This time the wine production facility was injected into the program by structurally reconfiguring the existing dining room to provide a double-height space. A separation between the existing historic building abutting the newer two-story height building serves well for more private event space on the 2nd level - with direct access to a new enclosed balcony space above the aforementioned historic building. The 200-seat Liva and the 600-person capacity event spaces are both serviced by a 2-story kitchen area with an elevator that can adjust to functional needs to service peak event use while simultaneously supporting the restaurant at full capacity.
